Rangers gradually clawed their way back to the game as Super Eagles man of the moment, Ejike Uzoenyi started imposing himself on the game, first his through ball set Chikeluba Ofoedu through at goal, but the youngster could not beat Goalie Ayo Segun in goal for tornadoes, then a mistake by Ariwa let him in on goal, but he could not hold his nerves.

Tornadoes also had their fair share of chances as Etor Essien missed another header as the game became a ding dong end to end affair. Rangers skipper James Okwousah was doing a wonderful job keeping Sibi Gwar quite.
Ejike Uzoenyi finally made his work rate count the 29th minute when he met a Chimaobi Chukwu lob on the half volley from all of 25 yards and the ball rested in the back of the net to give Rangers the lead. The goal spurred Tornadoes into action as they raided the Rangers goal time after time, as the attacking duo of Sibi Gwar and Etor Essien went in for the equalizer, Cyril Oriaku was having a torrid time keeping them at bay.
